Part 4.9 More Katrina in Lakeview and Old Metairie, courtesy of Kevin

More of Kevin's handiwork in Lakeview.

This is Robért's Fresh Market in Lakeview on Robert E. Lee.

This is my brother, Geoff's, discarded refrigerator. Notice the dead grass, killed by two weeks of submersion in toxic water.

This is the pile of stuff Geoff, Kevin, and their other roommate, Alex, pulled out of their shed. The house is raised about 4 feet off the ground, and their street had about 4 feet of water in it. They are one of about three houses on their street without water in it. The million dollar homes across the street are not raised. Their shed, however, was on a slab. Everything in there was ruined, including the washer and dryer. Other than that, they fared very well and are the only people able to live on their block.

This ends my photo tour of Katrina's wrath. Until I get into my own home. And maybe Thursday, after we get into HRA to move out classrooms to HRHS.
